Sewer Committee
The force main, a 6” line approximately 300 feet, may need
to be pigged out for an obstruction to the plant between
three valves. Also the pump housings could be worn and
which would be the less expensive fix to try since they are
12 years old. Hopefully some of the grant funds can be
used for this. The mixer brackets also still needs to be
repaired and the well as a hole in the aeration system. The
basins will need to be pumped down for this to be
installed.
Water Committee Report
The hydrant on East Sunbury Street is leaking and needs
repaired. The hydrant on James was replaced first since it
was inoperable. The budgeted amount was $8,000, with
the James hydrant costing $4,860. If the Sunbury hydrant
was replaced, it would be $2,000 over the budgeted
amount. Dave would like to have this completed before the
start of school. Vice President Hertzler made a motion to
repair the hydrant on East Sunbury. Councilmember
Ritzman seconded the motion. Approval was unanimous.
